Rants of a lab rat
Back in the lab. Sigh. Not fun at all. And company has blocked all youtube access!!! Now I can't even entertain myself with that while I'm stuck doing experiments alone. :(
I wanna go home... O_o
Gym or go straight home?
Lately I've had the 'good fortune' of feeling my fat cells enlarging and expanding their colonies. Been eating too much (junk, especially!) and not working out hard enough.
Input > Output. Die lah... And my sis wants her chocolate buffet before she leaves. I found one in Crossroads Bar of Merchant Court hotel that's cheaper than Fullerton's and being considerate (for my pocket) and all, she's decided we should go for the less expensive one. I've booked it for this Friday evening. Let's hope the standards are not too far below that of Fullerton's much-raved-about sweets.
Yesterday evening, my sis dropped by my office after her meeting in school and we went to Ikea to look at duvets and photo frames. And we each had one of Ikea's yummy hot dogs! After that we met up with Christian and his friends, Sven and Bea for dinner at a Korean restaurant. It was very good seeing the couple again. They were here for a long-ish (almost 3 weeks!) holiday in Asia. I first met them when we were at an international conference (SFN) last year. Sven's suave and humourous while Bea's really cute (in a blur blur way) and pretty. All of Christian's friends whom I've met so far are very friendly and genuinely nice.
(Yeah, have got to get the photos from Bea. One of my camera's memory cards is not working and I had a fright of my life last night cos' I thought it was my camera that was spoilt. I'm hoping I can still retrieve the photos from my memory card before formatting it and *cross my fingers* it'll be usable again.)
My sis had a hot stone beef and vegetables rice, which was quite delicious. And they just ordered some dishes which the 4 of us shared. The first time Christian and I came to this restaurant was with Sung (a Korean ex-colleague), his (then-) girlfriend and Claire B and we had steamboat which was much nicer than the dishes ordered this time.
Food, food and more food! That's why I'll never be as slim as the typical Singaporean (or maybe I should say Asian) girl. Sigh. :(
I'm both eager and worried about our cocoa feast on Friday... I dread to think about the consequences... *cue in background horror music* *thinks about upcoming CNY-related bingeing* Oh gosh!
After all that talk about putting on weight, I still don't feel like going to gym later. (Other than blogging cos' I'm bored in the lab, was also trying to psych myself up, but attempt has failed miserably...) Urgh. Will most likely go home and bum. And worry about growing fat(ter). Oohhh, the irony. hahaha.
